Ana Carla Werneck 

Ana Carla Werneck is a professor, researcher in administration of justice, and a lawyer.

She works on the project "Public Policies and Management Practices for Access to Justice in Brazil: Analysis of the Formulation and Implementation Process," financed by the Brazilian government's research sector (CNPq). She coordinates the registration of good justice practices for the Access to Justice Observatory (ObservaJus) and leads public policy research at the Innovation Laboratories of the State Courts in Brazil, focusing on groups in vulnerable situations.

She teaches Administration of Justice at the Judiciary School of the State of Paraná, Brazil.

Ms. Werneck provides consultancy and mentoring in judicial administration for judges.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Administration at the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil, where she investigates public policies on access to justice for vulnerable groups. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC) and a master’s in law from the Faculty of Law of UniBrasil, Brazil. She also earned a specialization from the School of Judiciary of Paraná and a bachelor’s degree in law from PUC, Brazil.

She earned a postgraduate degree in Information Management for the Administration of Justice from the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra.

Since 2013, she has conducted studies on the administration of justice in the United States, with a focus on comparative analysis with Brazil. Her research mainly analyzes the activities of judges and court administrators.

She was a visiting researcher at Fordham University School of Law in New York, USA.

Ms. Werneck worked for approximately eight years in the Brazilian Judiciary, most notably as a coordinator of the Cabinet of Judges in the Courts of Justice of the State of Paraná, Brazil.

She is a member of the research groups "Administration of Justice – AJUS" at the University of Brasília/Brazil and "Administration, Government, and Public Policies of the Judiciary – GPJUs" at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte/Brazil.

She served as the Coordinator of the Paper Presentation Session at the Justice Administration Meeting (ENAJUS 2023) in Brasília, Brazil.

Ana Carla Werneck is the author of the book “Administration of Justice: a New Model of Micromanagement from the North American Experience”. Additionally, she has contributed to numerous other publications, including articles and book chapters, and frequently delivers lectures both nationally and internationally on the topic of administration of justice.

She also serves as a reviewer for journals in constitutional law, administrative law, and civil procedural law.
