Dr. Ngozi Chianakwalam is the Honourable Chairman / Chief Judge of the Investments and Securities Tribunal, Nigeria (hereafter called The Tribunal). She was appointed as the Honourable Chairman / Chief Judge of the Tribunal in 2013 by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She began her career as a state counsel in 1978 in Imo State Ministry of Justice, Nigeria and rose to an Assistant Director of Civil Litigation in 1987.  She became a Deputy Director in charge of prosecutions in Abia State, Nigeria in 1991 and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in 1993. In 1999 she became the Solicitor General of Abia State and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the same Abia State.

She served as the Director, Registry (and Acting Registrar General, in the absence of the Registrar General) at the Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria, saddled with the responsibility to register and regulate the operations of companies in Nigeria from 2001 – 2006.

 Dr Ngozi Chianakwalam graduated from the University of Ife, Ile – Ife, Nigeria with an LL.B in 1977. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1978 and also earned an MBA in Management Technology, from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria in 2001. She received her PH.D in Criminal Law, from Rochville University, West Hollywood, California in 2007.

She has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, since 2003 and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators since 2005.

Chief Judge Ngozi Chianakwalam has handled several high profile civil and criminal cases, inclusive of Election Petition matters, and has appeared in all courts in Nigeria, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in her 35 years of post call to the Nigerian Bar, prior to her appointment as the Honourable Chairman / Chief Judge of the Tribunal.

Dr. Chianakwalam was the Principal Partner of Legal Standard Consulting, President, Sunctoria Limited, President, Change and Reorientation Mission (CHARM), Contributing Editor, New Democrat Newspaper.

She is a member of many associations such as:
