    Dear Distinguished Members and Friends;

     

    Pigeon Point, TobagoThe International Association for Court Administration in association with The Caribbean Court of Justice as host judiciary, cordially invite you to one of the crossroads of the Americas – Trinidad and Tobago, for a conference dedicated to court administration issues of the Western Hemisphere.  The official languages for the conference will be English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and French.

     

    The conference will be headquartered at the five-star Hyatt Regency Trinidad, which overlooks the Caribbean Sea in Port of Spain, one of the commercial hubs of the region and CARICOM.  The website is http://www.hyattregencytrinidad.com.  Tours will be available after the conclusion of the conference from November 4 to 5 in Trinidad, and to the island of Tobago, just a 15 minute plane ride away.  For further information on the tours, please email Seanna Annisette or Zola Pilgrim at pecu@caribbeancourt of justice.org.  Can you think of a better place to be in November?  Also, Trinidad, the most southerly isle of the Caribbean is south of the seasonal hurricane belt of the Caribbean.

    AGENDA

    The keynote speaker will be the Honorable Chief Justice Ivor Archie, of Trinidad and Tobago The agenda will be dedicated to topics representing reform and progress in the Western Hemisphere.  Specifically, access to justice, criminal pretrial procedure, commercial court administration, enforcement of judgments, court administration models, alternative justice approaches and court innovations.  Experts in each of these topics worldwide will be in attendance.  There will in addition be a special meeting on November 1 before the reception to discuss the role of court administration in international tribunals.  Several international court experts have already committed to facilitating the agenda.     The agenda includes a session on judiciary innovations in your court that you can profile.  Simply send your proposals and any supporting documentation to Pam Ryder-Lahey at plahey@provincial.court.nl.ca.  Should a proposal be accepted we will notify you of such

    VISAS:

    Passports are generally the only entry requirement, however, please check with the Trinidad Tobago consulate or embassy in your nation for specific entry requirements.  If one does not exist in your country, refer to the Immigration Division of Trinidad and Tobago website here..

     

    STATEMENT OF LIABILITY WAIVER – TERMS OF REGISTRATION: The International Association for Court Administration and CCJ waive any liability for the acts of any outside entities related to this event.  Neither IACA nor the CCJ  bears any legal liability or responsibility for the safety of any delegate attending or traveling to or from this conference.  Neither IACA nor the CCJ will accept any liability for delays or failure to perform resulting from anything beyond their control.

     

    IACA reserves the right to cancel this function without penalty other than a refund of direct costs paid to IACA for services not provided.  Each attendee shall be personally responsible for his/her behavior.  The organizers will accept no responsibility for the behavior of any attendee or outside entity during the event.

     

    Organizers of this function and attendees, under the terms of this policy, agree to waive any and all liability on the part of IACA or the CCJ, the function organizers, and each other for any adverse consequences resulting from incidents arising in association with this event.

     

    Upon registering in person at the event, each attendee will be required to present a current and valid photo to ensure his/her identity as a registrant.

     

    PHOTOGRAPHS:

    IACA and the organizers reserve the right to use any photos taken at the conference of official functions.  They may be used in conference and other promotional materials for IACA either in printed or electronic format.  Your registration to this event signifies your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this policy.

     

    REFUND POLICY:

    All cancellations will be charged $25 processing fee.  Written cancellations received by 15 August will qualify for a full refund of registration fees minus the processing fee.  Written cancellations received after by October 4, 2010 will not qualify for any refund.  This is due to all conference details and contracts are based upon the registrations at the end of the regular Registration period.
